We have accomplished our mission by providing affordable attention to children with Dyslexia and related disorders using certified teachers. We have designed a “System for Collaboration and Engaged Learning” that can be replicated in any community. In our pilot test in Wallace Middle School, Menchaca Elementary School, Barton Middle School, and Elm Grove Elementary over a seven year period, we have: - seen improvements in grades for those students that have attended our camp. - inspired students to fulfill long term goals and overcome disparity. - trained teachers using the Wilson Reading System Instruction, which impacts other schools. “The number one thing that schools can do to reduce drop out rates is to teach reading early”- according to Time Magazine, April 17th 2006. “Early literacy programs keep them ahead of the game.” We believe that this is particular among children with Dyslexia. The goal of our program is to increase graduation rates among children with Dyslexia and educate other facilities. We are the only affordable program for dyslexic children in Texas. This allows us to impact more lives by serving all families with Dyslexic children, regardless of their economic status. Board of Directors |
